First introduced in 2017 and continuously refined since, the 2026 /27 Hamachi XOS GT’n’Doggie™ Extreme Traveller is the latest and most capable version of one of the most talked-about big-game travel rods on the market. Five pieces. 9’6" of pure popping power. Packed length of just 63.5cm (25") — small enough for carry-on, built for fish that will test every gram of your tackle.

The Extreme Traveller is, hands down, the best popping rod we have ever used. At 9’6" it blows the competition away for casting distance with big poppers, and the tip has the perfect action for twitching, blooping, and extracting the best from poppers and stick baits alike. If you chase Volkswagen-size Giant Trevally, jumbo Red Bass, monster Dogtooth Tuna, or Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna, this is the rod. The latest nano-carbon blank combined with a full radical 5-piece seamless curve taper means the pressure goes into fighting the fish — not the angler — and we can put more fish-stopping pressure on one of these than many high-leverage jig sticks.

Two line classes to choose from. The PE 2–5 pairs perfectly with a 4000–6000 size reel and fishes beautifully on 20–50lb — ideal for GT on poppers in the 30–90g range. The PE 5–12 is built for serious horsepower: match it with a 6000–30000 size reel on 50–130lb braid for larger lures up to 220g and the biggest fish in the ocean.
